A series of my paintings called “ Crystallized ” is not just a series of giant beautiful oil paintings for me but honestly it’s one of the most satisfying projects I have ever done. Without a cliche usually what satisfies me in a commercial project most is obviously to see the effectiveness and results it delivers to the client as that is it’s purpose in a first place. But I don’t want to talk to you today about this series results even that I am already proud of them even in this early stage but I would like to talk to you about the human aspect and people involved in this project. And how important that was for me and always is. People you work with always matter especially in a big international project like this it’s always a team effort and work which shows and the connection of teams especially with the client is crucial for a success.
It reminds me a time in UK when I was working on a series of commercial projects for a big automotive brand and I have met a chairman of the brand. It was that kind of unexpected meeting when I guess you should feel the importance of the personality and at least a momentum of the weight of responsibility for what you do for the client right but instead from a first second it turned into a human talk of two men-boys passionate about cars and bikes and about the escalating lust to feel the adrenaline spreading out in your bloodstream with an increasing rave of the engine. You know what I mean. Men’s talk. Even talking about the moment gets me back there again as it would be yesterday and I would like to have that good laugh and talk with that person again now.
“the passion and love for what you do and in what you believe in it drives you the right way… to people who can appreciate and share with you their passion…”

Today thinking about that meeting once more again I guess it’s more than clear he wanted to meet me and know me as a person first and most. I was told and knew he likes my work and that was also the reason I was chosen for it but as always with a big campaign like that it comes along with a responsibility and professionalism questions asked in client’s mind in some way later or sooner as it is the trust the client is naturally seeking and needs to feel and know that everything will go just right. Which is more than understandable.

But There was no single word or a question asked about the work on the campaign during that meeting or after. There was no doubt. Just shared passion for the cars you could see.
